Diy Makeup Revival

TGIF! Not only is it Friday, but it’s my last day of work for the summer! Before I head to work I thought I’d share this quick and freakin’ amazing DIY that somehow I never knew as a women!! How could I have made it to 27 without knowing this?! This is a dedication to all you makeup-wearing ladies out there. We have all had that dreaded moment. Early in the morning….. you’re half asleep, putting on makeup and trying to make yourself look presentable. Your coordination is a little less than graceful because you’re not quite awake yet and as you fumble for your makeup…… SMASH!!!

You drop your favorite ________ (insert favorite bronzer, eyeshadow, powder, blush here). Now you’re awake …. AND ticked off. What the heck are you going to do with a pile of crumbly makeup?! Like heck you’re going to throw it away… because we all know how much that shadow cost. So you scoop the little bit that you can salvage back into the container and tuck it back into your makeup drawer. Only to get frustrated all over again the next time you pull it out and spill it on yourself (which for me usually ends in a temper tantrum where I throw it away.) So this is what you do:

Are you sure you are ready for this?! Drum roll please…… rubbing alcohol! Yeah I’m serious. Less than five cents worth of your ordinary first aid solution and you’ll never have to throw out your makeup again. Well at least not before you’re ready to. Simply take your crumbly makeup and mix in enough rubbing alcohol to soak all the crumbled bits. Then give it a little stir with the end of a makeup brush to make sure it’s saturated and let it sit overnight. The alcohol will evaporate leaving your makeup in one piece again….

I thought the alcohol would cause the makeup to be rock hard after but it’s actually even easier to apply after. So next time you’re eyeshadow is involved in a suicide attempt…. instead of RIP (rest in pieces) grab your rubbing alcohol and perform CPR (cheap product revival). It’ll save your money… and your sanity!
